Steve’s New Rifle – Summer 2018

Steve and Ed like most precision rifle enthusiasts are afflicted with the addiction to procure new rifles or change/update a rifle configuration. In this episode the 6.5 Guys explore and discuss and review a newly reconfigured precision rifle that Steve recently commissioned work on by Matt Yore of Sawtooth Rifles. At the heart of Steve’s new rifle is the Defiance Deviant action Steve used in his 2015 season match rig, which was overdue for a barrel change. New components and work done include:

• Chamber, headspace, and install a new barrel for 6×47 Lapua cartridge
• Inlet a new Manners stock and pillar bed the action and new bottom metal from Hawkins Precision
• Install Sawtooth Rifles RRS dovetail rail on Manners stock
• Install new Area 419 Hellfire muzzle brake system
• Cerakote all external metal surfaces
• Custom paint job on Manners stock by DittoeKote
• Install new Spuhr mount for rifle scope
